FLACA LAUNCH BOOK

26.09.03

On 26 September 2003 Flaca Gallery will celebrate the opening of its Hackney-based space with the launch of ‘26.09.03’, an A4 full-colour book that reveals the practices of more than 80 artists. All contributors were asked to submit sketches, notes, images and other material produced during their working processes that they would not perceive as ‘finished’, or suitable to exhibit. While some have chosen to submit formal proposals for future works, others have provided fragments of information, or visual clues as to their working methods. Simply produced and visually diverse, ‘26.09.03’ exposes the relationship between one practice and another and the personal thought processes of the artists.

Alongside the book Flaca Gallery will present a show reel of artists installing their works and other video matterial from the following artists:

Michael Beutler, David Cotterrell, José Davila, Ruben Gutierrez, and John Strutton.

and throughout September Sebastian Buerkner will design and execute a graffiti piece on the gallery exterior, which will be completed in time for the launch event.:
